AA meetings
are a safe space that you can easily go to when you feel overwhelmed by temptations and cravings, and when other support resources are too expensive or difficult to access. For example, if you have a long history of spending Friday nights or weekend afternoons visiting local bars, both are good times to attend AA meetings. Once you move into your own living space and are no longer subject to the rules of a sober living facility, you can decide if going to AA meetings two or more times a week is right for you.Many people insist on attending AA meetings at times when they used to be more likely to drink. For example, if you plan to live in a center for sober people after you finish treatment for patients hospitalized for addictions, the center's internal rules may require that you attend an AA meeting twice a week or more.
